The ICMS are supporting the UK Knowledge Exchange Hub for Mathematical Sciences (KE Hub) which was launched last year. As part of this the ICMS and KE Hub are holding new interactive KE Hub triage workshops.

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been named a Finalist in the British Data Awards 2024.

As a celebration of International Women’s Day today (8th March), we mark the event by highlighting the achievements of pioneering women in Operational Research (OR) and signpost networks that support women in OR careers today.

On 12 March 2024, the Council for Mathematical Sciences and the ‘Protect Pure Maths’ project are putting on the Maths Summit, with the support The OR Society and four other learned mathematical societies. The intention is to bring together political leaders and experts from academia and industry to discuss how the mathematical sciences can contribute better to research, innovation and prosperity.

To mark National Careers Week (4-9 March), The OR Society, is introducing teachers to an array of resources to promote Operational Research (OR) to students. These resources, including engaging videos and interactive games, that highlight the diverse and interesting careers available in OR and offer guidance on how to embark on a career in OR.
