BLAST Fest business modelling

BLAST Fest Logo

Project summary

Describe the desired business model for BLAST Fest.

Please note that this project was advertised before, however, we are requesting support from another volunteer with more time and accessibility to conclude this project.

How will this project benefit the organisation?

Demonstrate to potential project funders the ways of working, cost effectiveness and added value of BLAST Fest in communities engagement for the promotion of the arts, sciences, engineering, technology and mathematics, particularly within diverse communities and ‘hard-to-reach’ groups.

In addition to creating a meaningful business model for BLAST Fest, another useful outcome would be to distil meaningful measures of effectiveness for BLAST Fest's community engagement and service delivery.

Project description

The BLAST team is passionate about science, social justice, culture and creativity, and the importance of STEM for sustainable development. They leverage cultural assets that already exist within local, diverse communities to help co-create an exciting programme of activities and events.

In this project, please identify the following, through a participative approach with the client using appropriate soft systems methodologies:

  • Business objectives for BLAST Fest;
  • Specific programmes of work;
  • Organisational Vision and Mission statements;
  • The range of services that are undertaken/provided;
  • The range of business operations undertaken (e.g. income generation, demand management, budget management, publicity, monitoring effectiveness);
  • Resource requirements (e.g. governance, administration, virtual office, web site maintenance);
  • Organisational values (e.g. leadership, collegiate teamwork, service excellence)

Then, using the products of the above, as appropriate, construct a diagrammatic model of the business operations required for BLAST Fest.

Through continued consultation with the client, generate a plan of action for achieving any organisational change necessary to obtain the desired position with regard to the business operations for BLAST Fest.
